I had my doubts about picking up $X5 right after its listing, but I decided to go for it last Monday when the price dipped slightly. Happy to see some solid gains today after their annual report. A part of me is tempted to lock in the 8% premium and sell, but for now, I’ve decided to hold on and see where it goes. Even if the momentum slows in the next couple of weeks, it’ll likely pick up as we get closer to a dividend announcement. Another stock I’ve decided to hold onto is $WUSH. I sold part of my position about a week and a half ago to enjoy the satisfaction of taking a profit, but I kept some shares. I’m confident it’ll hit over 190 rubles soon, and I think things could get even more interesting as we head toward summer, so I’m holding for now. $ROSN looks like it’s starting to climb back up, but it’s too early to tell if it’ll persist or just stay stuck in the 515-535 corridor—or even dip closer to 500, as some users have been predicting. I’ve been buying on the dips, but not as systematically as I could have. If I’d been more patient, I could have had a better average price by now. Another recent pick for me is $HNFG. Their positive and transparent report has definitely boosted the stock price. After all, retail is retail—people are going to keep shopping no matter what. And finally, just for fun, I picked up $ELMT last week to speculate a bit. It seems to be on a downward trend right now, but who knows. Do you think X5 and Henderson will maintain their momentum, or is now the time to take profits?

So how are coupons paid out on here? I've got {$SU26234RMFS3} in my portfolio on here, as well as on Alfa. I haven't gotten a here about the coupon being paid, but it's already in my account with the other broker. What's the usual timeline on here?

Last week, I was planning to pick up some $ROSN after the dividend cutoff, but it didn’t drop the way I’d expected. Then came the sanctions speculations, the actual announcement, and—surprisingly—growth in the stock. Today, though, it took a dip. Lots of short-sellers seem to have had their moment. Good for them. As for me, I decided to go ahead and buy what I’d planned to pick up last week. My reasoning? Medium-to-long term, I think Rosneft will grow. Brent is above $80, and let’s be honest—Russia always finds a way to sell what it needs to sell. But who knows? Let’s see where this goes. On the other hand, I sold my $NVTK stock over the weekend. I wasn’t sure how some of the sanctions would play out. I made a small penny but could have made more if I’d waited until today. Oh well.

So, how does everyone spend their weekends? Are you diving into market research, or do you prefer to unplug and recharge? Bonds are my latest obsession, so I won’t be doing any trading this weekend. Green vs. Blue? As I mentioned before, I started trading with Alfa just to snag their ₽5,000 bonus. The terms were simple: top up and buy stocks worth ₽1,000. While I was opening my account, their rep said, “Everyone just buys $VTBR stocks” and, without missing a beat, placed a market order for me. 🤦 It’s been oscillating ever since—never really growing—and is still dangling in my portfolio. I even picked up a few more shares when it tanked, hoping for a big rebound. A few months later, I decided to invest in $SBER and picked up 10 stocks. Although it also saw a decline when the market was down, it’s slowly been picking up and showing some growth. So, what’s the deal with these two government-majority banks? Why does $VTBR seem to perform so much worse than $SBER, or am I missing something? I see that Sberbank pays consistent dividends, while VTB hasn’t paid anything since 2021. Is this just a difference in management styles, or something more fundamental? And most importantly: should I cut my losses with $VTBR while I still can, or keep holding for whenever we see an upward tick?

I have my eyes on $ROSN today. With today’s dividend gap, and the stock already down over 3% yesterday—and more than 6% over the past week—it’s definitely worth watching. The dividend payout is over 6%, so a further drop could present an interesting opportunity to pick it up cheaper. $ROSN is known for regular dividends, which makes it a solid candidate for those who prefer dividend-paying stocks. First real day of trading after the winter holidays in Russia. The last week of December saw a big rally on the market following the Central Bank's decision to maintain the key rate at 21%. A wild number, but the expectation of most analysts was that it would be raised to 23%. So, investors reacted very positively. Well, today was the day that big players decided to secure their profits with lots of movement. Which saw the MOEX lose about 2.38% of its value falling below 2,800 points. The oil sector saw the biggest correction over concerns that the Biden administration would announce new sanctions targetting oil companies and Russia's shadow fleet. Interesting to see how much further $ROSN falls tomorrow considering today is the cutoff for dividends. Today was also the first day that $X5 was back to being traded after its relocation to Russia. Lots of movemebt and volatility today. I think it could potentially grow and am thinking of picking up a humble lot, but I'll wait for the speculators to settle down to try and get a reasonable price. A fellow PULSEr, @LuckyTest, commented below saying it's too early to tell right now on whether it'll grow or not. (Before I edited this post, I'd written that it could grow in the next 6-8 months. But I agree, we just don't know yet.)
